# Root Access vs Life Authority

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Life Authority at 97 against Root Access's 8. Life Authority also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Root Access sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Life Authority sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Life Authority holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Life Authority has 97 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Root Access ships an update every 3 weeks, Life Authority every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
