# Block vs Block Square

The clearest difference is update cadence: Block at fortnightly against Block Square's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Block Square sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Block ships an update fortnightly, Block Square every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
