# Brain Dump vs Jot

The clearest difference is update cadence: Brain Dump at every 4 days against Jot's every 2 weeks. Brain Dump also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brain Dump sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Jot sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brain Dump ships an update every 4 days, Jot every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
