# Bluetooth Scanner vs Spy Hearing

The clearest difference is rating: Spy Hearing at 4.8 against Bluetooth Scanner's 4.2. Spy Hearing also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (65 vs 6). Bluetooth Scanner's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bluetooth Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Spy Hearing sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spy Hearing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spy Hearing has 65 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bluetooth Scanner ships an update every 2 months, Spy Hearing every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
