# Falling Filter vs Sh8ter

The clearest difference is update cadence: Falling Filter at every 11 days against Sh8ter's every 4 months. Falling Filter also leads on iOS requirement (17 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Falling Filter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Sh8ter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Falling Filter ships an update every 11 days, Sh8ter every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
