# Notes by Color vs Diple

The clearest difference is update cadence: Diple at every 2 days against Notes by Color's every 3 weeks. Diple also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes by Color sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Diple sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Notes by Color against 5.0 for Diple. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively.

Notes by Color ships an update every 3 weeks, Diple every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
