# FilmLab Pro vs Photic

The clearest difference is update cadence: FilmLab Pro at every 2 days against Photic's every 5 months. Photic's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FilmLab Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Photic sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FilmLab Pro ships an update every 2 days, Photic every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
