# Water Loop Out vs Screw Machine

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Water Loop Out at 75% against Screw Machine's 50%. Water Loop Out also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Screw Machine's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Water Loop Out sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Screw Machine sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screw Machine holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 719 and 445 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Water Loop Out's written reviews are positive against 50% of Screw Machine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Water Loop Out ships an update fortnightly, Screw Machine every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
