# Thinned vs Undercoat

The clearest difference is update cadence: Thinned at every 4 days against Undercoat's every 2 weeks. Thinned also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thinned sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Undercoat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thinned ships an update every 4 days, Undercoat every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
