# R vs StudyScan

The clearest difference is ads: R at none against StudyScan's shown. R also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. R sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and StudyScan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

R ships an update every 2 weeks, StudyScan weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
