# passNote vs NEON

The clearest difference is update cadence: NEON at every 2 days against passNote's every 5 days. NEON also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. passNote sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and NEON sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

passNote ships an update every 5 days, NEON every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
