# IPTV Sonic vs VLT Player

The clearest difference is monetization model: IPTV Sonic at free against VLT Player's freemium. VLT Player's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IPTV Sonic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and VLT Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for IPTV Sonic against 5.0 for VLT Player. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively.

IPTV Sonic ships an update every 2 months, VLT Player every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
