# Jot vs Pocket Typewriter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Jot at none against Pocket Typewriter's 1. Pocket Typewriter's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 27.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Typewriter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Jot asks for nothing beyond the download.

Jot ships an update every 4 months, Pocket Typewriter daily. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
