# Walking Tracker vs StepLock

The clearest difference is ads: Walking Tracker at none against StepLock's shown. Walking Tracker also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). StepLock's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Walking Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and StepLock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Walking Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, StepLock every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
