# Typeleaf vs ThumbType

The clearest difference is ads: ThumbType at none against Typeleaf's shown. Typeleaf's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Typeleaf sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ThumbType sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Typeleaf ships an update every 5 weeks, ThumbType monthly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
