# AuthSecure vs Onyx

The clearest difference is update cadence: Onyx at every 3 weeks against AuthSecure's every 3 months. AuthSecure's advantage is iOS requirement (16.6 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AuthSecure sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Onyx sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AuthSecure ships an update every 3 months, Onyx every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
