# CollegeCal vs Summit

The clearest difference is rating: Summit at 5.0 against CollegeCal's 3.0. CollegeCal's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CollegeCal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Summit sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Summit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CollegeCal has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CollegeCal ships an update every 3 days, Summit every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
