# YardScan vs LiDAR Toolkit

The clearest difference is update cadence: LiDAR Toolkit at every 5 days against YardScan's every 4 months. LiDAR Toolkit also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YardScan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and LiDAR Toolkit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

YardScan ships an update every 4 months, LiDAR Toolkit every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
