# ComicMax vs High Shelf

The clearest difference is ads: ComicMax at none against High Shelf's shown. ComicMax also leads on iOS requirement (13 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ComicMax sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days and High Shelf sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ComicMax ships an update every 3 weeks, High Shelf every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
