# Self Mail vs RoadNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: RoadNotes at every 2 days against Self Mail's weekly. Self Mail's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Self Mail sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and RoadNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Self Mail ships an update weekly, RoadNotes every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
