# Flare vs EPUB Reader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flare at none against EPUB Reader's 3. Flare also leads on ads (none vs shown). EPUB Reader's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.2). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EPUB Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Flare asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flare ships an update every 10 days, EPUB Reader every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
