# Prop Screen vs Earwig Marker

The clearest difference is rating: Prop Screen at 4.5 against Earwig Marker's 3.0. Prop Screen also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Earwig Marker's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prop Screen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Earwig Marker sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Prop Screen holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Prop Screen's written reviews are positive against 50% of Earwig Marker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prop Screen ships an update weekly, Earwig Marker every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
