# Voice Alarm vs edEdit

The clearest difference is ads: Voice Alarm at none against edEdit's shown. edEdit's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Alarm sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and edEdit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Voice Alarm ships an update fortnightly, edEdit weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
