# Backtrack vs Flare

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flare at every 2 days against Backtrack's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backtrack sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per month and Flare sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backtrack ships an update every 2 weeks, Flare every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
