# CicadaTAK vs Demod

The clearest difference is price: CicadaTAK at $2.99 against Demod's $9.99. CicadaTAK also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and chart position (#167 vs unranked). Demod's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CicadaTAK costs $2.99 and Demod $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CicadaTAK against 5.0 for Demod. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Demod has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CicadaTAK ships an update every 4 days, Demod fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
