# EchoShelf vs cmmusic

The clearest difference is monetization model: cmmusic at free against EchoShelf's free with in-app purchases. cmmusic also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 8 days) and device support (5 vs 3). EchoShelf's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EchoShelf sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and cmmusic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for EchoShelf against 5.0 for cmmusic. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EchoShelf has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

EchoShelf ships an update every 8 days, cmmusic every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
