# Pledge and Intention vs Barely Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pledge and Intention at every 2 days against Barely Notes's every 11 days. Pledge and Intention also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pledge and Intention sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.00 per 7 days and Barely Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pledge and Intention ships an update every 2 days, Barely Notes every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
