# Mental Math vs Digital SAT Prep

The clearest difference is rating: Digital SAT Prep at 4.6 against Mental Math's 1.0. Digital SAT Prep also leads on ratings volume (9 vs 1). Mental Math's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mental Math sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Digital SAT Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Digital SAT Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital SAT Prep has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mental Math ships an update fortnightly, Digital SAT Prep every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
