# Contractor Calculator vs BluMatrix

The clearest difference is rating: BluMatrix at 5.0 against Contractor Calculator's 4.4. BluMatrix also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Contractor Calculator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (56 vs 9). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Contractor Calculator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and BluMatrix sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BluMatrix holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Contractor Calculator has 56 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Contractor Calculator ships an update every 2 months, BluMatrix fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
