# PlotJoy vs Cinerra

The clearest difference is monetization model: PlotJoy at free with in-app purchases against Cinerra's subscription. Cinerra's advantage is chart position (#150 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PlotJoy sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per 7 days and Cinerra sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.90 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 1.7 for PlotJoy against 1.6 for Cinerra. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 23 and 8 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 0% and 0% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
