# Pressly Speed Reader vs Derot

The clearest difference is update cadence: Derot at every 4 days against Pressly Speed Reader's every 6 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pressly Speed Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Derot sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pressly Speed Reader ships an update every 6 weeks, Derot every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
