# StepForest vs Walkful

The clearest difference is update cadence: StepForest at every 3 days against Walkful's every 9 days. StepForest also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepForest sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Walkful sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepForest ships an update every 3 days, Walkful every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 14, 2026 respectively.
