# Weather Radar Channel vs BlipSat

The clearest difference is monetization model: Weather Radar Channel at free with in-app purchases against BlipSat's subscription. Weather Radar Channel also leads on ratings volume (26 vs 1). BlipSat's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Weather Radar Channel sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and BlipSat sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BlipSat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Weather Radar Channel has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Weather Radar Channel ships an update every 9 days, BlipSat every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
