# Antes vs HolyNote

The clearest difference is monetization model: Antes at freemium against HolyNote's subscription. Antes also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). HolyNote's advantage is ratings volume (163 vs 1) and chart position (#166 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Antes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and HolyNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Antes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HolyNote has 163 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Antes ships an update every 10 days, HolyNote every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
