# Toki vs Journaling Buddy

The clearest difference is update cadence: Journaling Buddy at every 2 weeks against Toki's every 3 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Toki sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Journaling Buddy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Toki ships an update every 3 weeks, Journaling Buddy every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
