# SteelNote vs Anima

The clearest difference is update cadence: SteelNote at every 4 days against Anima's every 3 weeks. SteelNote also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SteelNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per year and Anima sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SteelNote ships an update every 4 days, Anima every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
