# SteelNote vs TechPDF

The clearest difference is update cadence: SteelNote at every 4 days against TechPDF's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SteelNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per year and TechPDF sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SteelNote ships an update every 4 days, TechPDF every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
