# Mimiq vs BlackOut

The clearest difference is update cadence: BlackOut at every 3 days against Mimiq's every 2 months. Mimiq's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mimiq sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and BlackOut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mimiq ships an update every 2 months, BlackOut every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
