# Modalissimo Ear Training vs Aubel

The clearest difference is update cadence: Modalissimo Ear Training at every 2 days against Aubel's monthly. Modalissimo Ear Training also leads on monetization model (freemium vs paid). Aubel's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Modalissimo Ear Training sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Aubel sells 18 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Modalissimo Ear Training against 5.0 for Aubel. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aubel has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Modalissimo Ear Training ships an update every 2 days, Aubel monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
