# Pomodoro Timer vs Focus Train

The clearest difference is rating: Focus Train at 5.0 against Pomodoro Timer's 4.0. Focus Train also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). Pomodoro Timer's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomodoro Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Focus Train sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Train holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Pomodoro Timer's written reviews are positive against 95% of Focus Train's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pomodoro Timer ships an update every 3 weeks, Focus Train every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
