# G1RL vs ShadowCalc

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ShadowCalc at none against G1RL's 10. ShadowCalc also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). G1RL's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. G1RL sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. ShadowCalc asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for G1RL against 5.0 for ShadowCalc. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ShadowCalc has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

G1RL ships an update fortnightly, ShadowCalc every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
