# WordRune vs Flashcards

The clearest difference is ads: Flashcards at none against WordRune's shown. WordRune's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordRune sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Flashcards sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WordRune ships an update weekly, Flashcards every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
