# Comix Reader vs Emaki

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Comix Reader at none against Emaki's 3. Emaki's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Emaki sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Comix Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

Comix Reader ships an update weekly, Emaki every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
