# Untangled Knitting vs KnitNote

The clearest difference is ads: Untangled Knitting at none against KnitNote's shown. Untangled Knitting also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). KnitNote's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Untangled Knitting sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and KnitNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Untangled Knitting ships an update every 6 weeks, KnitNote every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
