# StormPrepared vs HurriMap

The clearest difference is monetization model: StormPrepared at free against HurriMap's free with in-app purchases. HurriMap's advantage is device support (4 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.2). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StormPrepared sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HurriMap sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for StormPrepared against 5.0 for HurriMap. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively.

StormPrepared ships an update every 6 days, HurriMap every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
