# Honyomu vs Ritsu

The clearest difference is update cadence: Honyomu at every 3 days against Ritsu's fortnightly. Ritsu's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Honyomu sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Ritsu sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Honyomu ships an update every 3 days, Ritsu fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
