# Hermex vs DockCat

The clearest difference is ads: Hermex at none against DockCat's shown. Hermex also leads on ratings volume (135 vs 1) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). DockCat's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DockCat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hermex has 135 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hermex ships an update weekly, DockCat every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
