# BuzzBuzz vs StepCat

The clearest difference is monetization model: BuzzBuzz at free against StepCat's free with in-app purchases. BuzzBuzz also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BuzzBuzz sells 18 one-off in-app purchases and StepCat sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BuzzBuzz against 5.0 for StepCat. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively.

BuzzBuzz ships an update every 5 days, StepCat every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
