# SegWhat vs Scan Trove

The clearest difference is monetization model: SegWhat at free against Scan Trove's freemium. SegWhat also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). Scan Trove's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SegWhat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Scan Trove sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for SegWhat against 5.0 for Scan Trove. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SegWhat has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
