# Transit Authority vs Backstage

The clearest difference is rating: Backstage at 2.0 against Transit Authority's 1.0. Backstage also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). Transit Authority's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transit Authority sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backstage sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backstage holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively.

Transit Authority ships an update every 2 days, Backstage every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
